Telia Carrier needed to meet urgent demand to continue to fuel its positive market momentum by increasing network capacity, enhancing optical performance and streamlining operations. Infinera’s solutions allow Telia Carrier to reach an unprecedented level of flexibility, performance and agility through dynamic service set-up and activation, a significant reduction in operating costs and a new level of scalability to meet the constant demand for bandwidth.

GÉANT is Europe’s leading collaboration on network and related e-infrastructure and services for the benefit of research and education. GÉANT needed to overcome Ethernet link aggregation group (LAG) limitations to better support “elephant flows” above 10 gigabits per second and selected Infinera packet-aware optical transport network to do so.

Interoute was born out of a vision to connect the business hubs of Europe with the continent’s largest, fastest and most advanced fiber optic network. As part of its growth strategy, Interoute was looking to expand the bandwidth of its pan-European long-haul network to efficiently deliver new cloud-based network services to its customers. Interoute needed an easy-to-operate solution that would enable it to quickly and efficiently provision network services to support unpredictable capacity demands.

Australia Japan Cable (AJC) experienced a network outage on its subsea optical network between Japan and Guam. AJC needed to quickly restore network services to its customers while undertaking subsea cable repairs.

Windstream is a leading provider of advanced network communications to businesses and consumers nationwide. Windstream needed to quickly expand the bandwidth of its long-haul express network. Windstream’s strategy is to offer new and advanced services to its customers in the shortest time possible.

With the Infinera Intelligent Transport Network and full turnkey and spares management services Windstream expanded its long-haul express network by 9,500 miles and now provides 100G Wave transport services in 44 markets across the continental U.S.

Infinera’s DTN-X solution was deployed as part of Pacnet’s 100 Gbps optical core network upgrade within just nine weeks. The DTN-X’s FastSMP technology ensures that Pacnet’s customers can survive multiple fiber cuts with sub-50ms restoration time. Instant bandwidth functionality and a multiterabit capability allow Pacnet to deliver network upgrades in seconds and support ever increasing intra and inter-regional bandwidth demands.

SANET (SLOVAK ACADEMIC NETWORK), a national research and education network (NREN), needed to upgrade its Ethernet-based transport network backbone to 100 Gb/s in order to support the significant bandwidth demanded by scientific experiments and other academic projects. SANET is a nonprofit organization supported by Slovakia’s Ministry of Education.

In this video, Mattias Fridström, Vice President and Chief Evangelist at Telia Carrier, talks about how the company’s international carrier backbone spreads capacity and connectivity around the world. Fridström discusses the massive traffic growth on Telia Carrier’s network year-over-year, and the need for the network to be diverse, flexible and fast in order to meet the needs of its customers.

Japan Internet Exchange Co., Ltd. (JPIX) is Japan’s first commercial internet exchange (IX) provider, established in 1997. As an IX, JPIX is a critical part of Japan’s cloud infrastructure, offering high-performance connectivity services between providers, wholesalers and their end users. JPIX’s priority was to improve its network configuration and scalability to reduce the costs associated with frequent replacement of legacy transmission devices. JPIX required an optical transport device with improved scalability – one that was capable of transmitting massive amounts of data.
